26/02/2016 Date and Venues for Elections of Regional Youth MPs

The Electoral Commission informs the general public and the youth in particular, that 28th – 29th February 2016 has been appointed as the period for convening regional delegates’ meetings for the purpose of election of Regional Youth Representatives to Parliament.

Members of the Electoral College are required to report to their respective regional venue on 28th February 2016 for registration.

Electoral College

All the members of the District Youth Councils within each region shall constitute an electoral college for the election of the respective regional Youth Representative in Parliament.

The District Youth Council Electoral College shall consist of:

  1. District Youth Committees (9 members per district) within the region;
  2. Chairperson of each Sub County/Division/Municipality/Town Youth Council within the region;
  3. The Secretary for Finance at the Sub County/Division/Municipality/Town Youth Council within the region;
  4. The Secretary for Women Affairs of every Sub County/Division/Municipality/Town Youth Council within the region;
  5. One Youth with Disability (PWD) at District level;
  6. Two (2) student representatives, one of whom shall be female, nominated by the Uganda National Students’ Association (UNSA);
