• A presidential election/ one type of ballots paper is used at all polling stations
• Parliamentary election/ each constituency a different type of ballot papers
• District Chairpersons elections, each district requires a different type of ballot paper.
• District Chairperson Councillors, each electoral area throughout the country requires a different set of ballot papers.
• Sub-county Chairperson Councillors’ elections, each electoral area throughout the country requires a different set of ballot papers.

vote1Therefore, there is need to fully understand the different requirements of ballot papers for the election(s) in question in order to allocate ample time for sorting, proof reading printing and packing.
Therefore the volume and number of variations of ballot paper will determine the period between nomination and polling. The bigger the volume and the more number of variations, the more complex, longer time to print ballot papers and packing for each polling station.
